The striped bass or American sea bass (Morone saxatilis) is a species of anadromous fish of the family Moronidae. Adults migrate in spring from coastal saltwater to freshwater to reproduce. It is caught with flexible striped bass lures.
Food
Striped bass are opportunistic predators feeding on a wide variety of prey, including invertebrates and forage fish. Two populations of striped bass are present in Quebec. The St. Lawrence River population and the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence population. It must be said that in recent years, these two populations have experienced a significant demographic growth, especially the one in the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
