EXPERIMENTAL MONO GILLNET FEX-03,

200 FEET Long x 6 feet deep,

PANELS (1”-6”) are equipped with a floating line and a leaded one. The leech rope is made of very strong braided nylon, and the rigging twine used is a braided nylon #18

EXPERIMENTAL MONOFILAMENT NET FEX-03

Our sampling gillnets are manufactured with nylon twines either made of in monofilament or in multifilament. They are rigged in a ratio of 55%. The colors available are white for all the nets rigged with multi., and in see-through colors for the mono. nets. Therefore we can dye the multi. nets according to your needs by adding an additional 10% to the cost price. The twine diameters are relatively proportioned to different meshes.

The small nets (1/2″ to 4″ ) are fitted with a floating line and a leadline. The nets with bigger meshes are generally rigged on a float line, and a heavier leaded line. Therefore we manufacture nets according to our customers needs.

Experimental or multi-panel gill nets are used to “gill” fish of different sizes and species. These nets are used primarily for research purposes and prove to be effective for sampling. Constructed using multiple panels of monofilament or multifilament gill netting in a single net. Panels are hand-sewn together with twine going from the top line to the bottom line. The gill nets are tied to a top rope or float line and a bottom rope or a lead line with side ropes weaved at both ends of the nets. These nets should be checked multiple times a day as they can cause mortality to the fish if left too long.

Surveynets are developed for the purpose of biological fishstudies in lakes, rivers and seas*
The nets you will find in the webshop are following the standards in the field.

Experimental Gillnets are used to survey fish populations (age or size classes, maturity stages) in fresh or salt water. They are made of sections (panels) of different mesh sizes.

The net called trammel is without any doubt, the most effective we know. It is the least selective of the gillnets i.e. it can catch a 8cm fish as well as one of one meter. It is made up of multifilament nylon , and made up of 3 juxtaposed pieces of webbing fixed on the same bolt rope.

The central piece of webbing has a mesh size that can vary from 4 to 6 times smaller than the outer webbing. The depth of the central webbing is 20% superior than the outer webbing.

It is rigged on a braided polypropylene (Rope) and is equipped with floats. While the footrope is made up of a leaded braid. Available in green, The illustration below illustrates the different components of a tramnel.

We keep in stock tramnels with the following specifications:

Manufactured differently depending on the different types of fishing, our nets are recognized in the fishing industry for over 40 years. For example, the threads of webs used for fishing for groundfish are more productive and more selective than those used for commercial fishing, but remain fragile during handling.
