GALVATECH RUST ANODE PRIMER
Cold-dip galvanizing technology comparable to hot-dip galvanizing.
Zinc-rich cold-GALVATECH RUST ANODE PRIMER
Cold-dip galvanizing technology comparable to hot-dip galvanizing.
Zinc-rich cold-dip galvanizing primer from GALVATECH 2000.
Unique electro-chemically bonded, organic zinc-rich industrial galvanizing technology with 88% zinc in the dry layer. Offers a service life comparable to hot-dip galvanizing or metallizing under the same exposure conditions.
True active and sacrificial protection like hot-dip galvanizing
Dries to moisture without dew-point restriction
Can be overcoated with most paints, even powder paints
APPLICATION:
For Bridges, ships, marine, electrical transmission and/or telecommunication towers, buildings, tanks, transport, tractor-trailers, factories.
CHARACARISTICS:
- Mono-component product
- 99.995% pure organic zinc
- Lower in VOCs 285 grams/litre
- Cathodic protection due to electrochemical bond with the metal
- Easy to apply with standard painting equipment, including electrostatic
- Can be applied on non-friable rust, free of dust
- Can be covered with most paint products
- Can be used in duplex over new and old HDG or metallization
- Rust-Anode® Primer comes in only one colour: flat grey natural zinc RAL # 7005
- An equal dry film thickness of Rust-Anode® Primer provides the same performance as hot dip galvanization or metallization.
- No structural distortion
- Flexibility
- Permanent adhesion
- No cathodic disbondment
- Follow thermal expansions
- Moisture cured, without dew point
- High resistance to saltwater and salty environments
- Can be applied to aluminum, stainless, corten, cast iron, (all metals), concrete and existing paint after minimal cleaning
- Resists to hydrocarbons such as hydraulic fluid, diesel, gasoline, urea, etc.
- Dries quickly (hygro-reactive) in moist environments
- Can be used at any time to retouch Rust-Anode® Primer coated surfaces
- Can be applied at temperatures from –5°C and +37°C (23°F to +98°F)
- Meets ASTM B117 (Salt Spray Test), ASTM D522 (Mandrel Bend Test), CAN/CGSB 1-GP-71 Method 119.5 and CAN/CGSB 1.181 and Canadian Food Inspection Agency standards
BENEFITS:
- An outstanding elasticity and plasticity of the dry film that allow the expansion and bending of the metal substrate;
- A total and permanent metalizing bonding to the metal substrate;
- A good resistance to impact;
- A resistance to abrasion of high performance;
- A superior resistance to hydrocarbons and salt damages;
- Single pack formulation, easy to mix;
- lt allows the same corrosion protection as hot-dipped galvanizing and metalizing with equal dry film thickness’s
- Little change of colour in the time;
- Application from -5 C (+23°F) to + 37 C (+98°F);
- Resist to mist and to rain, 90 min. after application;
- Application without taking account of dew point;
- Minimal surface preparation;
- Resistance where pH is between 5.5 and 12.5;
- The Rust-Anode Primer can be used without a top coat;
- Easy application with any standard painting equipment spray gun or electrostatic.
DECONTAMINATION:
Chlor-Rid
- Remove chlorides, sulfates, nitrates and other soluble salt contaminants
- Leaves no film or residue after use
- Biodegradable, Water Soluble, Non-Toxic
Available in certain Sherwin-Williams stores.
